Artist Statement
I try to pierce through the physical into the emotional. To grapple with the viscous raw unbearable emotion, to express it all, to feel it all and to communicate every nuance with and without words. I am delving in, deep inside, grabbing on tight and pulling it all out, out for everyone to see.
I warp, manipulate, tear back layers and shatter my own self-image in a loving attempt to rebuild, to normalise, to humanise, to console, and to empathise.
I want the gaze to be confrontational and uncomfortable in my work as I search out that eye contact, daring you to tell me how you really feel.
